First Aid At Work Training
Which First Aid course do I or my staff need?
HSE recommends that all businesses have a First Aider on site, detailed requirements depend on your business size and what you do.
How does the employer know which course their staff need?
Employers are required to undertake a hazard assessment of the workplace to decide which course to take. HSE Advice line.
Red Dragon First Aid is happy to provide you with a FREE hazard assessment for your workplace. Just give us a call on 07709 488863. As part of your hazard assessment Red Dragon may recommend that your staff undertake one of our environment specific first aid training courses because of legislation relating to your work sector or specific environments e.g. Outdoor, Sports, Paediatric, Security or Care sector specific first aid training.
For many businesses there are two courses:
Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) for those employees in low risk workplaces e.g. offices, shops and call centres. This is a 6 hour (1-day) award
First Aid at Work (FAW) for more remote or hazardous environments e.g. light industry, construction, food processing. This is an 18-hour (3-day) award
Additionally all employers are 'highly recommended', by the Health and Safety Executive, to give their staff responsible for first aid an annual 3-hour refresher training.
Our strength is in our trainers who follow a nationally approved programme to deliver fun, interactive and relevant training for specific groups of workers. All our trainers are fully DBS checked and hold up to date disclosures.
Courses delivered in Scotland are now approved by Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) through ITC First Aid our Awarding Organisation. These courses are Outdoor First Aid, Emergency First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid.
